Abstract

The present study examined the relationship between self-compassion and academic stress among emerging adult students. Academic stress is a prevalent concern during emerging adulthood, yet limited research has explored self-compassion as a potential protective factor, particularly within the Indian context. A quantitative research design was employed using correlation and regression analyses on a sample of 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students selected through convenience sampling. Self-compassion was measured using the Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (SCS-SF), and academic stress was assessed using the Educational Stress Scale of Adolescents (ESSA).
