Abstract

The influence of relationship counselling on a couple who sought therapy to address communication problems, trust concerns, and emotional distance—referred to as Ms. C and Mr. T (pseudonyms)—is examined in this case study. Due to a breach of trust brought on by an emotional affair and conflicting long-term objectives, the couple, who were in their late 20s and early 30s, had to deal with persistent difficulties. They worked on reestablishing trust, enhancing communication skills, and reestablishing an emotional connection during the course of six months of treatment. The couple achieved notable progress through interventions like active listening exercises, fostering transparency, and discussing future aspirations. Both spouses reported increased emotional intimacy, better communication, and restored trust at the end of therapy, indicating the benefits of counselling in resolving difficult relational issues.
