Abstract

This study examines the association between subclinical dark personality traits  narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy — and two distinct forms of passionate involvement: harmonious passion (HP) and obsessive passion (OP). Grounded in the Dualistic Model of Passion, Trait Activation Theory, and Identity Theory, the research investigates how ego-driven internalization and controlled motivational regulation shape the nature and intensity of passionate engagement across work and life domains. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed with 105 participants
