There have been concerns raised about the impact of social media on body image perception, raising questions about how it influences people’s impressions of their own bodies. The study seeks to comprehend the complex relationship between social media usage and body image perception, as well as the potential mechanisms through which it may lead to body dissatisfaction, self-esteem concerns, and related psychological well-being. Pearson correlation was conducted. A mild significant correlation (r= 0.06) was found between social media usage and body image perception. The result suggests a positive association, which means that as social media usage grows, so does body image perception. To accomplish these objectives, this study intends to give insights that can inform interventions and initiatives to promote healthier body image beliefs, particularly among those who may be more vulnerable, by evaluating a varied spectrum of people.
