Psychological abuse, a pervasive yet under-recognized form of domestic violence, can have significant detrimental effects on women's well-being. This study explores the impact of psychological abuse on self-esteem and subsequent dating relationships. Research suggests abusive partners often engage in tactics that erode self-worth, potentially aligning with self- enhancement theory, where negative feedback from a partner weakens a woman's perception of herself. The study examines the potential link between these experiences and the stability and intimacy found in future dating relationships. Understanding this connection can offer valuable insights for supporting survivors and developing interventions to promote healthy relationships
