The current paper explores the rich landscape of child development through the lens of the beloved Harry Potter series, authored by J.K. Rowling. This study aims to analyse the major characters in the series, employing developmental psychology theories to gain insights into their psychological growth and maturation. This analysis is undertaken with a focus on the

Indian cultural context to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the characters and their developmental trajectories resonate with a diverse audience. By applying prominent developmental psychologist Erikson's stages of psychosocial development, this paper aims to elucidate how the characters in Harry Potter reflect and influence the psychological development of children.
