Abstract

Parents who experience feelings of grief and loneliness when their children move out are known as empty nesters and this subject has attracted a lot of attention. It is thought that social support, which includes practical, emotional, and informational help from others, mitigates the negative impacts of empty nest syndrome. Furthermore, finding meaning in life, that is seeking significance and purpose becomes apparent as a vital element in managing the shift to an empty nest. Comprehending the complex relationship among mothers, empty nest syndrome, social support and life purpose provided important insights into supporting their mental health at this critical time of life. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between empty nest syndrome, social support and meaning in life among mothers. Standardized scales were used to measure the stated variables. The results found out significant relationship between empty nest syndrome, social support and meaning in life. Examining these connections illuminates practical methods for helping mothers deal with the difficulties of having an empty nest.
