Abstract

The movie centres around the life of Harold Crick, an IRS auditor who lives a highly structured and monotonous life, filled with routines. The study looks at psychological concepts such as determinism versus free will, the search for meaning and the impact of self-awareness on personal growth. Harold’s character exemplifies a profound journey of self-discovery and existential reflection. The film's use of metafiction and unnatural narration provides a unique narrative space that externalises Harold's inner psychological state, creating a layered exploration of the human condition.
