Impact of Night Eating Syndrome on Sleep Duration Among Young Adults

The current study employed linear regression analysis to explore the impact of Night Eating Syndrome (NES) on sleep duration among young individuals. NES is treated as the independent variable, while sleep duration is the dependent variable. The regression model reveals a statistically significant relationship, supported by an ANOVA p-value of 0.0009 and an F-statistic of 11.4842, indicating the model’s strong explanatory power. The regression coefficient shows that for each one-unit increase in NES score, sleep duration decreases by approximately 1.0927 units, with a low standard error of 0.3224, reinforcing the reliability of the estimate. These findings align with econometric theory and prior research across disciplines such as economics, finance, and marketing analytics, which emphasize the predictive strength of regression models in behavioural and physiological studies. In conclusion, the study confirms that NES significantly and negatively affects sleep duration in young people. Future research should incorporate additional variables and explore nonlinear relationships to further refine predictive accuracy.
