Abstract

With the English language being spoken globally, it is important for a developing country like India to incorporate the language into its teaching curriculum. This study tries to investigate the relationship between Verbal Reasoning Ability, Self-Esteem and Academic Adjustment among ICSE and CBSE class 12 students. Based on the results, a significant positive relationship (r=0.346, p<0.001) was seen between verbal reasoning ability and academic adjustment. Similarly, a significant positive relationship (r=0.508, p<0.001) was also obtained between academic adjustment and self-esteem. However, no relationship was observed between verbal reasoning ability and self-esteem. C.
