THE IMPACT OF PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AND EMOTIONL SUPPORT ON MENTAL HEALTH OF CHILDREN WITH LEARNING DISABILITY

Abstract

This study examines the impact of parental involvement and emotional support on the mental health of children with learning disabilities. There were 100 participants in total for this dissertation topic, split into two groups: parents (50) and children (50). Using Pearson correlation analysis, the study found a perfect positive correlation between parental involvement and children's mental health that was statistically significant . Furthermore, a strong positive correlation was found between emotional support and parental involvement. A linear regression model showed that parental involvement significantly predicted children's mental health outcomes . The findings demonstrate the importance of parental involvement and emotional support in promoting the mental health of children with learning disabilities. Despite the study's cross-sectional design and small sample size, the results highlight the need for interventions aimed at increasing parental involvement in order to improve children's emotional well-being. Future research is encouraged to use larger sample sizes and look into causal relationships.
