This study examines the mental health and well-being of students in educational settings, with a particular focus on the impact of stress on academic performance and coping mechanisms. The research is based on survey data collected from 93 students; the majority of whom are young adults aged 18 to 25. The sample comprises 71% male and 29% female participants.
The study investigates the ways in which mental health influences students’ academic experiences, the effects of stress on academic performance, and the strategies students employ to manage stress and regulate their emotions. The findings indicate that stress significantly impairs concentration and negatively affects academic outcomes. While students commonly utilize basic coping strategies such as time management and taking breaks, many perceive institutional support, including counselling services and stress management workshops, as insufficient.
Furthermore, the study highlights the critical role of social support and emotional regulation in fostering academic success. These findings underscore the necessity of strengthening mental health support systems within educational institutions to enhance students’ academic performance and overall well-being.
