COMPARING THE LEVELS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, METACOGNITION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL BETWEEN INDO-PAK FAMILIES AND NON-INDO-PAK FAMILES

Abstract

The year 1947 marked a significant and tumultuous period in South Asia's history with the Indo-Pak partition, resulting in the creation of India and Pakistan. To discover the current level of standing of Indo-Pak families, this study explores the historical context, immediate consequences, and legacy of this event by exploring the levels of emotional intelligence, metacognition and psychological capital of both Indo-Pak and Non-Indo Pak families. A purposive sampling of 172 individuals from Indo-Pak and non-Indo-Pak families was done, out of which 89 belonged to Indo-Pak families and 83 belonged to non-Indo-Pak families were administered with BEIS-10, MCQ-30, and CPC-12. The findings enunciated that the analysis showed a statistically significant difference between “Indo Pak Families” and “Non-Indo Pak Families” on the Emotional Intelligence variable, with "Indo Pak Families" having higher scores. However, no significant differences were found between the two groups on the Metacognition and Psychological Capital variables.
