It is important to understand the types of attachments style of adults and the relationship between the attachment style and mental health. The study shows that there is no meaningful association between adult attachment types and mental health of adults. This study also suggests that adult attachment patterns have no discernible influence on young adults’ mental health. Furthermore, the study relied upon self-reported data, which was unable to adequately reflect participants’ true attachment patterns and mental health and could be influenced by social desirability bias. Additionally, the study shows that attachment styles can influence teenage mental health but they might not be the only one reason. It can also be influenced by additional reasons such as peer pressure, family issues, childhood traumas etc.
