Abstract

Music is a universal phenomenon that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. Its impact on the human brain, particularly in memory retention and cognitive function, has been a topic of extensive research in cognitive neuroscience. This paper explores the relationship between music and memory, investigating how different genres, tempos, and musical experiences influence short-term and long-term memory. Additionally, it examines how music affects cognitive functions such as attention, reasoning, and problem-solving. The findings reveal that while music can enhance cognitive performance and memory under certain conditions, individual differences and task-specific factors significantly mediate these effects.
