Decoding Digital Deception: Exploring Motivations in Online Gaming Bullying, Cyber Frauds and Deep Fake AI

Abstract

Digital deception encompasses a wide range of nefarious activities in the online realm, including online gaming bullying, cyber frauds, and the proliferation of deep fake AI technologies. This qualitative research endeavors to decode the motivations driving individuals to engage in such deceptive practices. Through thematic analysis of interviews, online forums, and case studies, this study uncovers recurring themes that shed light on the complex interplay of factors contributing to digital deception. The findings underscore the significance of anonymity, power dynamics, monetary incentives, technological advancements, and social engineering tactics in understanding and addressing digital deception in contemporary society.
